During the month of September, my blog posts are book reviews and author interviews. All the authors are fellow Tribe Writers—some of them in my online fiction group, affectionately known as “The Otters.” This week, my review is a historical novel, Answering Annaveta by author Lorna Faith. The book is available on Amazon.
Is someone up there?
Annaveta Travotsky is a young girl poised on the brink of womanhood in 1913 Russia. She is the oldest child in a family of Russian peasants. Life is hard for the Travotsky family as it was for most peasant families. Her father arranges for her to marry a man whom she doesn’t love. Then, tragedy strikes and it turns Annaveta’s world upside down.
Forced to flee from the only life she has ever known, she finds herself in a colony occupied by German immigrants. She finds refuge in the home of the Wagner family and love from their son, Alex. However, Annaveta struggles to overcome her history of rejection and abusive relationships. She feels unworthy of love. She questions her faith. When a chilling figure from her past catches up with her, she flees to St. Petersburg in order to seek safety. The action and suspense will keep you turning the page.
Lorna did a remarkable job in telling the history of relationships between the Russians, Germans, and Serbians in pre-World War I Russia. She certainly did her research!
Answering Annaveta is the first novel in the Russia to Canada trilogy. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

About the Author:
Lorna Faith loves all things romantic, historical and filled with adventure. Graduating with a music degree, she still teaches private music lessons, as well as interviewing amazing Creative people on her Podcast. At night, you can find her scribbling away on her next novel and writing her first online class. She has fun hiking and other fun things with her hubby and four teenagers in the mountains of Southern Alberta, Canada.
You can connect with Lorna Faith on her blogs, Raw Story Life and Lorna Faith, on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, and You Tube.
Future Books:
I love writing and have so many ideas. So in between working on creating my first online class on ‘Uncovering the Real You’, whenever I have extra time, I’ve been writing the second book to Answering Annaveta. This second book is set in Odessa Russia. The book is action packed, set at the beginning of WWI.
Also, since the start of this year, I discovered a new love for Dystopian novels. Since having a dream in April, I’ve written about six chapters in a new Dystopian novel, set in 2098. It is about how a bunch of small colonies learns to begin again after the world has been ravaged by war and natural disasters. So this has been so fun to explore and imagine.
