It’s been another busy week around the Hall household, but I’m happy to say it’s been an exciting one. Not only did AIW Press release the anthology, Quantum Wanderlust, but I finished the first draft of Unknown Reasons on Tuesday night. As with most of my writing projects, it took me longer than anticipated to complete it, but that’s okay.

Wednesday morning, I woke up feeling a bit lost. After planning this book for several months, plus the time spent writing it, it seemed strange not to have anything to do. Of course, that feeling didn’t last long. By Wednesday evening, I was knee deep in edits.

Now that I have two major projects completed (Gold Wings, my short story in Quantum Wanderlust) and the initial draft of Unknown Reasons, I hope to be able to participate in more of the daily word prompts from WordPress with some short fiction pieces.

In case you didn’t know it, the autumn equinox arrives today. Fall is my favorite time of the year with cooler days, cozy nights, and all things pumpkin and spicy.

And now, so that I can get back to the edits, here are this week’s links:

  1. Congratulations on completing your first first draft, Joan. It’s a great feeling.

Fall is my favorite season as well, although I it’s still potato chips and popcorn for me.

    • Summer is stubbornly hanging on here. In fact, the last two weeks have been hotter than August. But I can dream!

Yes, finishing that first draft was exhilarating.

  2. Congrats on finishing your draft, Joan! What an awesome feeling.
I am one scene away from my final. I got the whole thing done and then decided it needed a last scene. Grrr!
I love autumn too, although right now we’re having July temps in the upper 80s Go figure 🙂

    Happy Friday!

    • Here’s to you finishing strong. I know you’ve been burning the midnight oil, so to speak, to get it finished. It doesn’t feel like autumn here, either. September has been hotter than August!

I love hearing from readers. Let's talk!
