Good grief, Charlie Brown. It’s the last Thursday of September. Today’s post is short and sweet.
Autumn officially arrived on Monday, although it still feels like summer in Texas. Alas, cooler weather will arrived some day!
We’re coming up on my favorite month of the year. As L. M. Montgomery said,
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
October is shaping up to be a busy month. Since it is the time for Halloween, the theme of my posts will deal with ghostly sightings and encounters with the unexplained.
I’ll forgo the usual line-up of posts the week of October 21 for a special tour with my fellow Story Empire authors. Click here to learn more.
I’m also participating in Teri Polin’s Bad Moon Rising. I can’t wait to see what all the authors have to say!
You can see there is lots going on.
One more thing. Tuesdays are set aside for book reviews and/or guest author spots. If you have a new or recently released book and would like to be a guest on my site, click here to contact me.
Since we’re talking about October and Halloween, I’ll leave you today with a clip from an all-time favorite.

With the weather we’re getting in the UK at the moment (gales, torrential rain, and more gales), I’m hoping October brings us somewhat calmer days, lol. It sounds like you have a lot going on next month, Joan 🙂 … I love the Charlie Brown clip, always have 🙂
Can’t blame you for wanting calmer weather! We need rain as it’s been dry the latter part of the summer. (And very hot.) But a promise of cooler weather is in the forecast. I too love Charlie Brown!
Thanks for starting my day with The Peanuts, Joan – watch it every year – and also for the Bad Moon Rising mention!
You’re most welcome, Teri. I’m looking forward to Bad Moon Rising.
Who doesn’t like the Peanut’s characters. Yes, October will be quite the busy month.
October is my favorite month. It feels like autumn here in Idaho, but we’ll get some kind of Indian summer before it’s over. You’re already hosting me, so I’ll skip your offer. It’s most generous and I hope some folks take advantage of it.
I love October. We have some cooler temps in the forecast. Fingers crossed that holds out.
And you know you’re always welcome here.
I always tweet them out, but it might help you find a guest or two. Funny how we almost have to prod authors to take advantage of free promo.
I guess some are like me and hate to ask. Promoting and marketing isn’t my strong point but it’s a must these days. Appreciate your support.
Not my favorite thing either, but promo like this often works better than the paid options.
I love October, too. I never miss watching Charlie Brown!
It wouldn’t be Halloween without him!
It seems that the closer we get to the end of another year, the faster time goes! I’m looking forward to the Story Empire tour!!
Jan, this year has flown! I’m excited about the upcoming SE tour!
I think most people love autumn, definitely helps with sleeping 🙂
Good point. Cooler temps make for good sleeping weather!
A delightful post, Joan. The video is a bonus. I haven’t thought about the Great Pumpkin in such a long time. 🙂 Hugs!
I love The Great Pumpkin. It’s still one of my “must watch” videos each year. 🙂
A lovely post, Joan. We are well into spring although we are currently having a rare spring cold snap. I am also looking forward to October and being part of the Halloween month.
I love the fact that south of the equator we have opposite seasons.
I know, it is quite strange for me because most of my blogger friends are Northern hemisphere. I feel out of kilter with you all.
LOVED this post. Now that I have seen the clip you included, had a pumpkin spice latte, and baked pumpkin cookies and muffins, October is upon us! I dressed for fall Sunday last, forgetting I was on the Texas Gulf Coast for a few hours, and boy, did I sweat!
I wish our Texas weather would catch up with the season! Last night I had a caramel almond pumpkin spice Kind bar. It was quite tasty and certainly puts me in the mood for more things autumn!
