Meet The Character ~ Hannah Wilson

Hi everyone. As I continue to focus on writing more short stories and novels, I’ve been brainstorming ideas to keep my blog content relevant. (I’ll continue to have some non-fiction posts, including my series about the months of the year.)

This month, I’m beginning a new feature called “Meet the Character.” I’ll have these posts from time to time as I create new stories or novels.

The first character in this series is Hannah Wilson. If you’ve read my current Friday Fiction series, Summer Adventure, you’ve already met Hannah and her friend Lauren Richards. Now, let’s get to know Hannah a bit better.

Hannah, welcome and tell us a little about your background.

I’m twenty-eight years old and work as a school librarian. I’ve always loved books and I think it’s important to encourage children to read. To me, there’s nothing like the feeling of having a good book in my hands, although these days I most often read eBooks. I like the idea of having a mini library readily available.

What made you decide to take a summer long trip without having a particular destination in mind?

That was my friend Lauren’s idea—she’s the spontaneous one. I like to travel, but I hesitated about this trip because we didn’t plan anything except our first stop. I’m a planner. I never go anywhere without my smart phone and rely on the GPS. My laptop also goes where I go. When I want to know something, I simply search the Internet.

I understand the only planned stop was a place called Sleepy Hollow Inn. The name itself lends much to the imagination. How did you feel about staying there?

I was grateful to know where part of our journey would lead, but the cautious person inside me hesitated. There are many stories surrounding the inn—some true and others folklore—including the mysterious disappearance of Hans Schneider, the original owner.

Is it true that you helped solve the mystery?

Well, I can’t take too much credit, but I guess you can say my quest for information was partly responsible.

So, what’s next after Sleepy Hollow?

We’ll continue our journey, but summer passes fast and school will begin soon. Lauren and I will return to our jobs.

Any plans for a trip next summer?

Lauren and I haven’t discussed it, but I’m open to the possibility.
