Hey, everyone! I am super excited to have John Howell as my guest today. This is his first time here, but I hope not the last. He has recently released a brand new book and is here to talk about it. Please welcome him to my site.
And now, take it away, John!
New Book Launch – Eternal Road – The final stop.
Thank you so much for having me on your blog, Joan, and thank you for helping me launch this book. I know you are busy with your own projects so I’m happy you could help with the launch. Speaking of the book, let me describe the kind of book it is. Eternal Road is the story of two people finding their way through the selection process leading to the place where one will spend eternity. Yes, it is true. They both have passed away. James Wainwright just died in an auto accident. Samantha Tourneau died seventeen years before. Sam is Jamesβs guide to help him decide where to spend eternity. This is not your usual thriller or paranormal romance. It is a piece of fiction that is a combination of inspiration, adventure, time travel, sci-fi, a touch of erotica, and a dash of spiritual. In short, it is a lot of things, but hopefully, a story that will make you happy to have read it.
It is now available on Amazon in paper and Kindle. The Kindle edition is introductory priced at 99Β’ until October 15th

The blurb
James Wainwright picks up a hitchhiker and discovers two things 1. The woman he picks up is his childhood sweetheart, only Seventeen years older. 2. He is no longer of this world.
James began a road trip alone in his 1956 Oldsmobile. He stops for a hitchhiker only to discover she is his childhood sweetheart, Sam, who disappeared seventeen years before. James learns from Sam falling asleep miles back caused him to perish in a one-car accident. He also comes to understand that Sam was taken and murdered all those years ago, and now she has come back to help him find his eternal home.
The pair visit a number of times and places and are witness to a number of historical events. The rules dictate that they do no harm to the time continuum. Trying to be careful, they inadvertently come to the attention of Lucifer, who would love to have their souls as his subjects. They also find a threat to human survival and desperately need to put in place the fix necessary to save humankind.
The question becomes, will James find his eternal home in grace or lose the battle with Satan for his immortal soul and the future of human life with it? If you like time-travel, adventure, mystery, justice, and the supernatural, this story is for you.
An Excerpt
James takes a seat on the comfortable chair in the corner. βIβll sleep on this. Itβs quite comfortable.β
βThatβs silly. You and I will share this bed. Itβs not like weβre even human anymore.β
βWeβre not?β
βNot anymore. Weβre spirits. Just the same, we canβt go wandering around town at all hours of the night. Who knows how many townsfolk we would scare out of a yearβs growth?β
βSo, we do sleep, then?β
βNot sleep as such. More like a period of contemplation. You lie down and take deep breaths and think wonderful thoughts. Before you know it, the morning will arrive.β
βIt would bring more fun to get some chains and go to the cemetery and wander around.β
Sam gives James a playful slap. βI would expect that from someone whoβs still a kid.β She goes over to the bed and lies down.
James grabs his arm as if her slap hurt. βJust kidding! So, we meditate?β
βYeah. Here, come lie beside me.β Sam pats the bed, and James goes to her. He furrows his brow, and Sam takes his hand. βI wonβt bite.β
βItβs not that. I have these feelings for you, and, to be honest, my thoughts arenβt so saintly right now.β
Sam sits up and pulls James into the bed. Then she wraps her arms around him and rolls into a spoon position. She continues to hold him tight. βNotice how the warmth of my body seeps into yours. We show affection for one another this way in the eternal place. Yes, you have memories of a different kind demonstration of affection, but tell me that the Earthly way is as satisfying as this.β
Thoroughly enraptured by Samβs closeness, James canβt speak. All his senses fly into a high state of awareness. The scents, sounds, and softness of her enter him and flow through his blood and nerves as if sheβs taken over his body. He undulates with pleasure and drifts into another plane, where all he can see or feel is a soft light and a vibration, which renders him helpless.
Held in that perfect state of bliss, an uncountable period passes, and then Sam calls to him to return. βItβs morning, so we need to meet Wyatt.β
