Hello everyone, it’s my pleasure to host friend and fellow author Staci Trolio today. She had a brand new release and is here to tell you all about it. Staci, take it away!

Thanks for inviting me here today, Joan. I appreciate having a chance to talk to your readers about my new novel. Hi, everybody!

Meet Danny Caruso. Actually, if you’re a fan of the Medici Protectorate series, you’ve already met him. Danny was introduced in book two, Mind Control, and he returns in book four, Tortured Soul. Danny is considered a member of the Protectorate because he used to train with the Brothers and helps Mike when he is asked. But he is not a member of the Brotherhood, and he does not work for MDH. Danny has his own private security firm, Nightforce Security, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. And his novel, Password, is the opening story to my new Nightforce Security series.

The above teaser is dialogue spoken by Danny, directed at his latest client, Braelyn Edwards. Braelyn is hypervigilant about protecting her privacy, but Danny keeps prying. They dance around the issue for a while; he digs, she evades. Eventually, the situation comes to a head. He’s frustrated. He’s blunt. His question might be indelicate, but it’s perfectly clearβ€”and it’s something she needs to hear. Braelyn may be smart, but she’s completely ignorant of how serious her predicament is. Danny knows better.

The funny thing about Danny is that he was a secondary character who insisted on becoming more. When we met him in Mind Control, he kind of stole the scene. And as I worked on the series, he kept nagging me for more page time. I brought him back in a bigger way in Tortured Soul and figured that would be enough. I was wrong. Danny is a strong personality as well as a strong man. He insisted his life was just as interesting as the Brothers’ lives, so I sat up and took notice.

You know what? He was right. Danny has some real horrors in his past that we learn about in Password. If you want to learn about his history, please read the book.

A sequel is already in the works. The next installment will be a novella released in March as part of Susan Stoker’s Special Forces Kindle World. So if you’re interested in more of Danny and his security team, you won’t have long to wait.

Blurb:

Some passwords protect more than just secrets.

Danny Caruso was glad to be back in the United States, back to his regular job. Back to his comfortable routine of all work and no play. But when his friend Mac asks a favor of him, he can’t refuse. He owes the guy everything. So he accepts the job, even though it means a twenty-four/seven protection detail guarding a particularly exacerbatingβ€”and beautifulβ€”woman.

Braelyn Edwards is careful to stay out of the spotlight, preferring to hide in the background and skip the trappings of a vibrant social life. But her privacy is threatened when there’s an attempt on her life and a bodyguard is foisted on her. Compounding problems? He doesn’t just want to protect her. He wants to investigate every detail of her life, starting with her top-secret job.

Danny casts his sights on Charlie Park, her coworker, her partner… the one man who knows all Braelyn’s secrets. She’s frustrated by the distrust until she realizes jealousy fuels Danny’s suspicions as much as instinct and proof. One of them is right about Charlieβ€”but by the time they figure it out, it may be too late to save their relationship. And Braelyn’s life.
