Wow! It’s already Friday again. Not that I’m complaining, especially since I have a three-day weekend coming up. But time is flying and we’re already over halfway through January. Not to mention I waited until Thursday night to write Friday’s post.

Our weather has been a little crazy of late (nothing new for Texas). Not much cold but we had storms last Friday night that ushered in a cold front. Saturday was one of those days when it was best to stay indoors. The weather cleared late in the afternoon. We had a heavy frost overnight, but fog and clouds moved in just before sunrise. The result was this:

Okay, not the best photo in the world, but I was standing on my front porch in shirt sleeves and wearing slippers!

So now, enough about me. Here are this week’s links:

    • We don’t have much fall weather anymore. We usually have a killing frost in early November but this year we went from warm to a couple of hard freezes before the frost. Therefore, we didn’t get the beautiful autumn colors like we normally do.

I’m with you, I’m ready for summer. I don’t like cold weather. Thanks for reblogging this and enjoy your weekend!

  1. Ha. I’m just the opposite. I hate hot weather, a real drawback when you live in Florida! I love colder temperatures, though down here, the cold kills your garden–and most things don’t come back in the spring. So a Florida freeze isn’t so good. But still, I’m trapped inside in the a/c all summer long, so I like being able to open the windows and hear the birds singing on a cool or even cold day. Having said all that, you might figure I’d love your photo, and I do! But I find I enjoy most of your pictures, Joan. You have a good eye for capturing a moment.

Thanks again for such a super list of interesting links. Saving it in a special folder just for recaps and links. I can’t wait to read some of the things I’ve missed. And thanks, also again, for having me as your guest this week. It was great to share a bit about The Light with you and your readers. Here’s to NEXT week! 🙂 <3

    • I used to hate hot weather but now it’s the cold I dislike. Especially wet colds. Having said that, it’s nice to be indoors by a fire when the weather is bad. I wish we had spring and fall like we once did. Now we have two seasons – summer and February! 🙂

  2. We had a couple of beautiful warm days here too, early in the week, but I woke up to 26 degrees this morning and snow, sleet, and ice are excepted tomorrow. I love when we get those unexpected blasts of spring in winter. I just wish they’d last longer, LOL.

Happy Friday, Joan, and hope you enjoy your nice long weekend!

  3. I love misty winter mornings, Joan. We just got the cold back and 8 inches of snow with it. Have a great three day weekend:)

  4. We had snow and gloom most of the week. Now it’s sunny and bright, but still cold. I suppose it is winter after all. I also have monday off, and hope to make headway on writing projects.

    • Keeping my fingers crossed but so far no snow this winter. In fact, it’s been pretty mild, but the forcast calls for cooler weather next week. We’ll see. Good luck on the writing. I hope to accomplish some this weekend as well!
